A SOVIET FOLKLORIC PORCELAIN PLATE
By the Imperial Porcelain Factory St Petersburg, period of Nicholas II, 1906, with later black overglaze State Porcelain Factory mark of Hammer, Sickle and Cog and dated 1925, painted to the centre with a Tartar horseman abducting a swooning woman, 25 cm. (9 3/4 in.) diameter

Purchased in Leningrad in 1929 by the current owner's aunt
