Owners of the Dulciora confectionary empire, the Ceccatos invited Ponti to furnish and decorate their Milan apartment and their central Milan showroom, and to provide a suite of furniture for Mr Ceccato's office. The scheme that Ponti created for their apartment, the Casa Ceccato, 1950, introduced the concept of fitted dashboard walls and extensive decorative surface panelling that was to evolve as a signature aesthetic over the following fifteen years. Of this collection of twenty lots, eighteen were designed for and used in the Casa Ceccato, Via Monferrato, Milan, the final two lots representing the executive suite that was commissioned for Mr Ceccato's Dulciora office.
