Lot Essay

Born in Tokyo, Yasuyuki became a favored pupil of the Nihonga painter Ito Shinsui and lived with the master in 1931. He first studied beauty painting, then changed to seascapes and children. He won a prize for his painting Gyosen (Fishing boat) in the sixth Bunten in 1943.
