Edo period (19th century), signed Ichiryuken Tomonobu Tetsukoku
Rounded-rectangular brass plate tsuba patinated reddish-green decorated with a large snake threatening two monkeys, pierce-carved in the round and highlighted in gold and copper, the monkey's fur rendered with finely carved lines and the snake's scales carved in low relief
