Two panels painted in color with a pierced garden rock, the other four panels with a lengthy inscription referring to the rock, all on gold paper and the reverse also in gold paper, the end panels framed in wood with metal mounts

Lot Essay

The first inscription is a commentary about the Taihu rock, by the artist, Liu Dan, and is dated to wuyin year, corresponding to 1998. The second inscription is a poem by the Song emperor Huizong.
