Lot Essay

Compare the similar cloisonné enamel hu illustrated by H. Brinker and A. Lutz, Chinese Cloisonné: The Pierre Uldry Collection, New York, 1989, no. 118, dated to the second half 16th century and with Jingtai mark. The decoration is very similar, but the lotus and grapevine bands on the neck are reversed.
