A BLUE AND WHITE DECORATED CELADON-GROUND VASE
LATE 18TH CENTURY
The compressed globular body decorated in blue and white with two rectangular landscape panels separated by the wufu, below a ruyi band on the shoulder, all below the waisted neck encircled by a raised rib separating carved bands of angular scroll and upright leaves interrupted by a pair of scroll handles, the celadon glaze of soft blue-green tone
14 in. (35.5 cm.) high

Lot Essay

A vase of similar form, also with panels of decoration rendered in underglaze-blue, but with touches of copper-red, and reserved on a carved, celadon-glazed ground, was sold in our London rooms, 9 November 2004, lot 140.
