When Dick and Ann Grace started a little project to grow grapes in Napa Valley in 1976, the region as we know it today was nascent at most. With the encouragement of neighbours, the grapes of the 1978 vintage were taken to Charlie Wagner at Caymus for tasting and so began the growth of their dream to own and run their own winery. The Grace Family Vineyard is blessed with a wonderful vineyard site, the pursuit of excellence and a worthy cause to drive them on. Kirk Grace is now vineyard manager and the winery continues to expand with the addition of an adjacent piece of property in 1998. The wines exhibit the great care with which the production is handled and the terroir from which they come. RB
