Property of a Northwestern Fine Wine Connoisseurs
Recently removed for this sale by a Christie's Wine Specialist from two custom built, walk-in, home cellars each perfectly maintaining 55 degrees temperature and 70-80 percent humidity.
The wine adventures of our clients began at a relatively young age than most. Fresh out of university and embarking on a new career as a young man in NY our client quickly realized that those exquisite expense accounts were a front row ticket to learning the greatest wines of the world. Night after night, clients in tow, he gradually learned the significance of top flight Bordeaux, mature Barolo, rare Rhônes and the burgeoning renaissance of California's finest Cabernets and Syrahs.
Naturally taking notes on everything - he still has his original 3x5 tasting note cards from those early days - it eventually translated into a serious collection of fine wines. As his career & family decisions evolved, so did the location of his collection. Rather than move the wine all over the country he decided to maintain his collection in the various cities he once, and in some instances still does, reside. In particular, the collection before you comes from his main home cellar located in cool climate Portland, Oregon, smaller portions of the collection were removed from a second home cellar and from his winter home outside of Phoenix, Arizona. Each cellar is located in an under ground basement and maintains active temperature and humidity control.
Now in his third decade of collecting, sharing, and enjoying the fine wines of the world, he has decided to consolidate his various locations to the main cellar. You are now the beneficiary of this decision.
