Levels: four 3cm and one 4cm
The first vintage made in the estate's new production facility, the 1979 has aged well. The wine retains its youthful exuberance, as well as plenty of the telltale seaweed, iodine, fruitcake, spicy, jammy fruit, medium to full body, an austerely structured underpinning, and a clean, crisp, peppery finish. It is a very good, though monolithic example of Vieux-Telegraphe. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. Last tasted 12/95. Robert Parker, Rhone Book (1997)
