JUDAICA:- AN ESTHER SCROLL, MEGILLAH ESTER,
UNMARKED, PROBABLY TURKISH OR BALKAN, 19TH CENTURY,
The cylindrical body alternately pierced and engraved with scrolling foliage, with ropework band at top & bottom, coral beads secured by wire around the rim, pannelled conical top surmounted by bird finial, the silver mount attached to the scroll itself applied with a serpent, traces of gilding to the serpent and the finial, (small hole in parchment ), Hebrew inscription around base pronouncing the piece a gift to one Yosef Chaim Yalooz.
