MARK OF THOMAS WHIPHAM (II) & CHARLES WRIGHT, LONDON, 1758,
Baluster with domed cover and foliate-embellished knop finial, decorated all over with fruiting vines, restrained fluting to cover, foot & lower body, the scroll side handles capped respectively with a classical female head and the head of a satyr, the sides additionally chased with a fox amidst vines and an architectural cartouche surmounted by an eagle, 14 in. high (35.7 cm.), 78 oz.
