Chandaka is seated on his mother's feet while his father feeds the mare that mothers Kanthaka. Horses peer over a wall at the top, and three other figures stand behind Chandaka's parents. To the far right stands a yakshi, an ancient nature spirit, on a lotus pedestal. For a similar example, see H. Ingholt, Gandharan Art in Pakistan, 1957, fig. 19.
