Including two armchairs, each with a panelled husk carved top rail and vertical splats centred by a slender vase with beaded swag, a padded seat and square tapering legs with spade feet (8)

Lot Essay

This form of chair, with a slender cenrtal vase-shaped splat and 'ramped' top rail was popularised by Messrs A.Hepplewhite & Co's Cabinet-Maker's and Upholsterer's Guide, 1788.
