etching, 1639, on laid paper, a later impression of the second (final) state, with margins, a partially split crease to the left of the subject, a short tear with an associated paper loss at the lower sheet edge below the sleeve, a number of repaired paper losses in blank areas (two just touching the subject), some light-staining, a borderline touched-in in graphite beyond the platemark, laid onto card at the sheet edges on the reverse
