Lot Essay

According to Heiner Bastian, the present group of six lithographs were conceived as a related series. They were drawn directly onto the stone by Twombly and printed in Robert Rauschenberg's workshop Untitled Press. To our knowledge, this is the first complete Untitled series to be offered at auction.
