Lot Essay

Tekke embroidered asmalyks were discussed by Michael Franses in Turkoman Studies I, London, 1980, pp.164-171. The present example is particularly interesting with the small human figures seen at one side of the field. For many further examples of the group please see "Auction Price guide", Hali 136, September-October 2004, p.119).
