A rare and interesting small mahogany 'spice-cupboard' style medicine chest circa 1800,
hinged in the centre and opening to a facade of twenty-six drawers with brass ring pulls, the upper layer of both sides each with panel a of six faux drawers concealing galleried area for four bottles with ground stoppers (two stoppers damaged), the remaining rows each side with seven actual drawers (one with cover, one with tin box), the rear of each side with a sliding panel to galleried area housing three bottles with ground stoppers, the case with brass swan-neck handles, ivory key-hole and key -- 20.5 x 21 x 21cm. (8 1/8 x 8¼ x 8¼in.)
