An early 19th-Century Continental-style domestic medicine chest,
with label reading PITT Chemist to H.R.H. Prince of Wales LEWES, of trunk style with double doors to the front, the interior with fenestrations to reveal contents of bottles and green plush lining to the lid, the doors partitioned to house four bottles with ground stoppers and with two drawers with bone knobs, the central upper section partitioned to house four smaller and three similar but larger bottles, with two drawers with bone knobs beneath containing a handheld apothecary balance in one and a glass mortar and pestle in the other, the case with brass handle, two diamond-shaped escutcheons and keys -- 22.2 x 20.2 x 20.2cm.
