An early 20th-Century black-japanned metal 'Tabloid' case known as 'The Safari',
manufactured by Burroughs Wellcome and Co., stamped on the case TRADE MARK 'TABLOID' BRAND, with upper tray layer fitted to house bottles with manufacturer's content labels and a japanned case containing magnesium sulphate cubes, the tray beneath with nineteen manufacturer's gauzes and bandages in packages (mostly unopen), (originally with third tray now missing), with booklet TABLOID A BRIEF MEDICAL GUIDE For Explorers, Missionaries, Travellers, Colonists, Planters and Others by Burroughs Wellcome and Co., the case with handle, key-hole and key and outer canvas carry satchel -- 22 x 26 x 16cm. (8 5/8 x 10¼ x 6¼in.)
