A small and attractive mid 19th-Century mahogany prescription desk,
with hinged glazed lid with ebonised frame opening to a red velvet-covered lift-up section, surmounting a partitioned section for labels (eight varieties present), the drawer below with ebonised pull with further partitions to house labels (eleven varieties present) -- 11.6 x 24.5 x 29.5cm. (4 5/8 x 9 5/8 x 11 5/8in.), the desk also containing eight contemporaneous prescriptions; with a late 18th-Century painted black pine box with decorative painted label for BACC:JUNIP:&LAUR -- 23.5 x 43 x 22.5cm. (9¼ x 16 7/8 x 8 7/8in.); and a mahogany (?)label container, with sloping lid to compartmentalised interior (one section holding labels) and drawer beneath -- 19.5 x 36.2 x 15cm.
