"Given how irregular many of the Méo wines are in '97, I was pleasantly surprised by the elegance, purity and finesse of their Richebourg. The nose offers excellent detail with none of the overripe, roasted character found in so many wines from this vintage and the flavors are round, ripe and supple with fine tannins and excellent length. There isn't a great deal of complexity yet but this should come with a few more years of bottle age and while not a great Méo Richebourg, it's the class of this group." BH
