"Deep ruby. Big, intense, sweet, wonderfully complex nose of spice, earth and tea followed by very dense, still youthful and impressively rich flavors that finish with velvety persistence. Terrific stuff and while the tannins are in evidence and there are the beginnings of secondary aromas, the structure and extract are there to permit this to age for many, many years. Very pretty juice and maturing beautifully. I remain confident in this wine but if there is a niggle, and mind you it's a small one, there is perhaps not great complexity though this may come as the balance and purity are certainly there. This is now rich enough to be approached now with food though it is a wine that is still on the way up. Multiple and consistent notes. BH
