"As big as the Bâtard is, this is even bigger yet it carries its weight effortlessly. Much more discreet on the nose with softly fragrant notes of oak spice, citrus and fresh flowers that lead to enormous, round, extremely rich flavors that also deliver tremendous mid-palate impact and then build in intensity to the superbly long back end. It's impressive how such a big wine can remain refined and classy. This will not be a Montrachet for the ages but has sufficient acid structure to suggest requiring 5 to 6 years of initial cellar time and it should easily last the better part of a decade after that."
