This 1,853-case blend of 72 Cabernet Sauvignon, 16 Merlot, 10 Cabernet Franc, and 2 Petit Verdot exhibits a floral, blueberry, blackberry, and licorice-scented nose with smoky black currants in the background. A wine of great richness with a distinctive Graves-like, scorched earth component to the flavors, this full-bodied, elegant, pure, well-delineated 2001 will benefit from another 1-3 years of cellaring, and should age nicely for two decades."
