A PARTHIAN GOLD AND GLASS NECKLACE
CIRCA 2ND-3RD CENTURY A.D.
The central oval box-setting with triangular granulated decoration around the collar, inset with dark glass cabouchon inlay with iridescence, hinged on either side with two crouching lion terminals, their stylized bodies decorated with circular radiate roundels, eyes recessed for inlay (now missing), an elongated cap extending from each hindquarter, each with four triangular settings for inlay (now missing), double loop-in-loop chain at either end, terminating with tubular collars with hook-in-loop closure, repaired
16½ in. (42 cm.) long max.

Acquired between 1970-1975.
