of baluster form below a flaring mouth, one finely painted with an Italian mother holding an infant; the other similar, composed with a young mother and child, within a chased gilt surround, edged at the top by berried laurel, flanked by scroll handles suspending wreaths, the reverse with a gilt arabesque, on conforming socle and circular bracket foot
