made for a Qajar nobleman, comprising a coffee pot and cover, sugar bowl, milk jug, six cups and saucers, two stem cups, two small footed containers, six spoons and one larger spoon, the enamel bands decorated with foliate scroll enclosing roundels inscribed Arfa' al-Dawla, the undersides engraved 'Septembre 27 1897' surroundng Norwegian silver stamps -- the coffee pot 6¾in.
