Manuscript on paper, 301ff. with 17ll. of sub-Saharan maghribi, yellow trefoils between verses, sura headings in sepia, marginal medallions in sepia and yellow, sura al-fatiha with geometrical decoration in yellow and sepia, loose leaf, brown morocco binding with flap with tooled decoration, folio 9 x 6½in. (22.5 x 16.7cm.) with a note in copperplate reading The Koran-Purchased by my father on the West Coast of Africa 1884 or 1885
