Lot Essay

This miniature is probably from a manuscript of the Shahanshahnameh of Fath 'Ali Khan Saba, an epic poem recounting the feats of the early Qajar rulers. Four copies were made and presented to the English, Russian and Austrian rulers by Fath 'Ali Shah.
