Hand-coloured frontispiece depicting the author in a landscape, additional title within hand-coloured engraved border, 44 hand-coloured plates and one hand-coloured diagrammatic plate, text in French and English (additional title lightly spotted, 9 plates [nos. 4, 8, 12, 19, 21, 31, 33, 35, 43] with small unobtrusive holes, very light occasional thumb-soiling, a few light spots). 19th-century half morocco (extremities quite rubbed and scuffed), gilt edges. cf. Nissen ZBI 1835.
