Lot Essay

Sir Henry Bartle Frere (1815-1884), the disitinguished British administrator was made Governor of Bombay between (1862-1867). The hill station of Mahableshwar is situated amongst the Western Ghats, the mountain range to be found running along the western coast of India, behind Bombay.
