Ananda di Toscana--Vintage 2001
Tuscany. Beardsall/Antonini
Tasting note: Impressively deep colour, dark cherry and ruby, velvety with opaque core, medium intensity. Very good nose, brambly fruit. Sweetish entry, dry with masked tannic finish. Perfect weight (13 alcohol) and attractive flavour. Drink now or keep - say 4-7 years. A good start! M.B. 14/3/06
Tasting note: Impressive deep colour - intense aroma of plums and dark fruits, edge of peppery, spicy fruit. Broad on the palate, sweet and soft with good acidity contributing to balance and a certain elegance. Soft tannins. Impressive overall and doubtless will improve in bottle and glass. David Elswood, April 2004
Tasting Note: A special bottling prepared by wine writer Judy Beardsall and winemaker Alberto Antonini from Maremma grapes, the 2001 Ananda manages to combine up-front pleasure and a certain structure with its spicy raspberry, cinnamon, rosemary, and white pepper nose, firm, smooth flavors, polished tannins and a persistent, vigorous finish. Drink: 2005-2012. Daniel Thomases, Wine Advocate 152 (Apr 2004).
