Circa 1840
Surmounted by a satyr and bacchante, the spreading hinged top and sides elaborately inlaid with scrolling foliage and red tortoiseshell, the edges and corners profusely mounted with scrolling grapevines, 'C'-scrolls and scallop shells, the hinged top and sides opening to reveal a blue silk-lined interior, each interior corner with an ormolu putto supporting a basket
