CAST FROM A MODEL BY PIERRE-JULES MENE, LATE 19TH CENTURY

A wax model of Amazone was first exhibited at the Salon of 1865 (no. 3075) depicting the horse 'Monte-Christo' with rider. The model resurfaced cast in bronze two years later at the Salon of 1867 (no. 2389).
