With spreading three-quartered galleried pediment above a conforming case set with a glazed panelled door opening to three adjustable glazed shelves and an olive-green velvet lined back, the sides similarly decorated with glazed panels above quarter-veneered panels, on square feet, the case stamped twice RAULIN, with a brass plaque engraved VTOR RAULIN/226 bd st. germain

In 1878, Victor Raulin succeded to his father's business, specialising in marquetry and lacquer furniture in the 18th century taste. He exhibited at the Paris 1878 and 1889 Expositions Universelles and was awarded medals for his entries. The firm was established at rue de Turenne and later moved to the Boulevard Saint-Germain in 1882 where it remained until 1925.
