Lot Essay

A similar vase to the present model appears on the cover engraving of a Baccarat sales catalogue, circa 1880, featuring prize-winning objects exhibited by the firm between 1867 and 1878 (see image, D. Sautot, The Story of Baccarat, Paris, 1993, p. 54).
