This relief of a Nymph emblematic of the Arts, bearing a caduceus, laurel and company shield, graced the vestibule of the New Gorham Manufacturing company's building beginning in the early 1890s. She is thought to have been designed by Antoine Heller, Gorham's lead designer of the 1880s and early 90s (see Charles H. Carpenter, Gorham Silver, San Francisco, 1997, p. 116.), and can be seen in an early photograph of Gorham bronze productions (see illustration above).
