Lot Essay

Richard Sebright (b. 1868, d. 1951) is recorded at Royal Worcester as one of the 'finest fruit painter of any period'. He was also a master painter and exhibited water colours at the Royal Academy. He painstakingly painted from nature and refused to simplify his techniques even when tempted by greater pay.
