Of shield shape, the shallow domed cover with bud finial, above a narrow neck flanked by upright ribbon-tied wreath handles, finely painted and hand tooled in white slip with either a putto balancing on a wheel scattering hearts to the wind or a putto balancing on the earth rowing amongst birds in flight, within a shaped-rectangular panel set on a beaded gilt band entwined with foliage, the reverse with a rosette, raised on a knopped socle and square base
