Lot Essay

The stool, with its arched feet, and Ionic scrolled seat is designed in the early 19th century Grecian fashion, and relates to a pair of stools bearing a 'talbot' hound crest sold, anonymously, in these Rooms, 13 November 1997, lot 59.
