Provenance
Mrs J. Uttley, Abbots Hall, Kents Bank, Nr. Grange-over-Land (sic), Lancashire. The Uttley family were mill owners in Hebden Bridge from the c. 1860s, later moving to Grange.

Lot Essay

This stereoscope is a variant on the well-known Natural Stereoscope usually attributed to the Huddersfield firm of Hirst and Wood.
