After the 'Service Ordinaire de Fontainebleau' ordered by Louis-Philippe, each plate with a central roundel radiating spearheads below key-pattern wells below borders of beasts among foliage reserved with cartouches of crowned 'LP' monograms and devices

Lot Essay

The original service of over 2,000 pieces was ordered by King Louis-Philippe on 26 June 1835. The decoration in the style of medieval manuscripts is based on drawings by Jean-Charles François Leloy.
