The cast ormolu dial with individual Roman and Arabic enamel chapters, the centre signed Julien le Roy A Paris, blued steel hands and sweep centre seconds, the movement with spring barrels for the strike trains and weight-driven for the going train with pinwheel escapement, hour and quarter countwheels on the backplate, hour strike on a bell and quarters on two bells, with repeat signature on the backplate, with musical movement in the plinth with gut fusee and spring barrel within a four pillar wheel train assembly beside the pin barrel playing on fifteen bells via twenty two hammers, within a shaped case with generous C-scroll and foliate mounts and surmounted by a figure of Neptune seated on a shell, the lower section with a shaped door with pierced red silk-backed trellis and a jester among musical instruments, on a shaped plinth
