At the 21 and 22 May 2001 Laureus World Sports Awards in Monaco which paid tribute to athletes internationally, Panerai was a supporter of the Laureus Regatta/Panerai Trophy sailing event. For the occasion of the competition, 500 examples of the "Luminor Marina" model were made.
