Cal. 60.8 nickel-finished lever movement, 23 jewels, diamond endstone, large Guillaume balance with gold poising screws, oversized barrel, the white enamel dial with Breguet numerals, blued steel spade hands, subsidiary seconds, in circular outer case with glazed snap on back, large gilt crown, movement and dial signed
75 mm. diam.

Lot Essay

Accompanied by République et Canton de Neuchâtel Observatoire Astronomique et Chronomètrique original Bulletin de Marche dated 17 December 1931.

The very large observatory calibre 60.8 mm was in production from 1925 to 1930. A total of only 88 examples of this movement were made, all bearing a serial number from the range between 6999620 and 7049440 (see Omega Saga by Marco Richon, pp. 170 & 171 and 182).
