Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with silvered dial, applied gold numerals and tachymetre scale in 1941 and its subsequent sale on 26 July 1941.

Reference 591 was introduced into the market in 1938, cased in yellow and pink gold only. It is interesting to note that examples in yellow gold are rarer. To the best of our knowledge, the present watch has never been offered at auction before and is one of less than 12 examples of reference 591 in yellow gold to appear in public to date.

The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 264.
