Lot Essay

The present timer was used by a boxing timekeeper, seated outside the ring and indicating the starting and ending of each round of a match by striking the bell with a hammer.

Excelsior-Park was founded by Les Fils de Jeanneret-Brehm in St. Imier, Switzerland. The company was active in the first half of the 20th century and specialized in the production of sports watches.
