The rectangular base with scroll handles with four small removeable rectangular boxes, the hinged lids inlaid with pagodas in landscapes, birds and musical instruments framed within a foliate border, opening to reveal coloured ivory counters, on bun feet
1¾ in. (4.5 cm.) high; 9 in. (23 cm.) wide; 5½ in.(14 cm.) deep

拍品專文

This games-box was probably acquired by Grossherzog Friedrich I of Baden (1826-1907) and his wife Prinzessin Louise von Preussen (1838-1923), daughter of the later Prussian Emperor Wilhelm I (1797-1888), in the late 19th century for Schloss Schwetzingen. It was subsequently transferred to Karlsruher Schloss.
