Lot Essay

The use of such foot warmers was recalled by Lilian Bond in Tyneham, A Lost Heritage, 1956, p.121. "Foot warmers, long flat tins with a covering of carpet, were filled with boiling water and placed upon the floor of the brougham for winter journeys." We are grateful to William Drummond for this reference.
